Best. Birthday. Ever

Remember the Turkey Baby

Yes, that's me...and my birthday fell on Thanksgiving Day this year.   So, I'm sharing only a short note with a few documentary pictures this week.

(We all know how holiday preparations alter your priorities and your schedule...)

My sons gave me the best birthday present I've ever had.

(It must be dusty in here - my eyes are watering.)

They brought their families to our house for my combined Birthday/Thanksgiving.

(Note to self:  We might need a bigger house...especially if the girls come with their families!)

The older son and his family drove 9 hours from Indiana.

The younger son and our daughter-in-law packed and carted all the accoutrements that go along with transporting soon-to-be-fifteen month old twin boys!

I am so appreciative of the effort and energy it took for them to visit.  And...both daughters-in-law took time to share family recipes for our dinner. (Yummy!)

Here are a few photos of all those cute grandbabes!

Davis and Kip checking out giant Jenga.  Kip really got into helping build a tower while Davis ran to Mom for comfort. Abby handed a block to Kip, who then handed it to Damien. Each hand-off from Kip required uttering the syllable, "DA!" I wonder what that meant?

"Hey, this stuffing is pretty good!  What else do you have? Wait...did someone say pie?"

Jack showed us the way to engage the post-meal nap. He did really well for an old dog used to a quiet house.  He even let Kip attempt a crawl into the dog bed with him.

My day was wrapped in a big imaginary bow

I miscalculated the time for the ham to rewarm; the turkey breast wasn't done until after we ate. The croissants may have been a "little darker" than usual.

The bottle of wine was superb.

But none of that mattered because I was surrounded by people who love me and whom I love with my whole being.

(Darn! There's that dust in my eyes again...)

I don't have a business related message this week.

I don't have an art/photography message this week.

I don't have a creative message this week.

I only have an experience of love and gratitude to share with you this week.

This is my offering to you...

I hope your Thanksgiving was everything you wanted it to be.

From my heart to yours...may all your days be the Best. Day. Ever.

Expect the best. Anything else is an adventure!
